Objective

To provide financial support for the treatment of underprivileged children who are suffering from cancer, ensuring the following sub-objectives are achieved:

  • To support only those patients who are below the age of 18 years and belong to a family with an annual income of less than Rs. 2,00,000/- and who have not received prior financial support from any other NGO or government body.

  • To work with only government and charitable cancer hospitals which have the three following specializations: medical oncology, surgical oncology and radiation oncology.

  • To establish and operate two special purpose cancer funds:

    • Cancer Treatment Fund: To fund the entire cost of treatment of the patient, as per the treatment plan of the hospital, capped at a maximum amount of Rs. 2,00,000 per patient.

    • Bridge Fund for Cancer Treatment: To provide interim and urgent relief to fund the early stage treatment within the first 3 months of diagnosis for those patients that have applied for government funding and awaiting the approval from central &/ or state government health schemes, capped at a maximum of Rs, 50,000 per patient.

Patients are selected on the basis of the following eligibility criteria

  • Only those Patients whose current family income does not exceed Rs. 2,00,000/- (Rupees Two Lakh only) per annum.

  • Immediate family members of patients who are Central or state government employees, or are employees who are covered under the CGHS, ESIS (Employees State Insurance Scheme) or are employees who are eligible for aid from their employers, will not be considered eligible for financial aid under the terms and conditions of this Agreement.

  • The Patient should have a good prognosis of 60% and above.

  • The Patient must be below the age of 18 years.

  • Only cancer Patients would be provided financial aid under this program.

  • The Patient should be of Indian nationality.

  • If the applicant qualifies for the above mentioned selection criteria, their case is eligible for receiving financial support under the program. Once the case is approved, the same is formally communicated to the applicant as well as the treating hospital.
