For children and adolescents, cancer is a primary cause of death. In high-income nations, more than 80% of children with cancer are treated, whereas in many LMICs, less than 30% of children with cancer are cured. As it is usually not possible to prevent childhood cancer, the best way to mitigate its impact and improve outcomes is to prioritize an early, accurate diagnosis, followed by efficient, evidence-based treatment and individualized supportive care.
Yuvraj Singh Foundation aims at financial assistance during crucial times to initiate the process of treatment and save the life of young children.
The YouWeCan Scholarship provides financial assistance to cancer survivor children from marginalised backgrounds, to help them get reintegrated into the formal education system, once their cancer treatment has been completed. Once a student has been enrolled for the program, they are provided a scholarship of upto Rs. 25,000.00 per year. Moreover, they are supported on a year-on-year basis, every year till the time they complete their education.
