The factory workers and employees of Pee Empro Exports attended the health camp organized by Yuvraj Singh Foundation. The camp, which was held in the conference hall of the company, saw a footfall of 120 patients. The MPH students of Amity Institute of Public Health, who were doctors from different specialties, were present at the camp. A registration counter was set up along with four different counters for check-ups.
One catered to the population requiring general check-up like blood pressure and Body Mass Index (BMI), the second counter had breast cancer awareness and screening going on, the third had oral cancer detection for adults and dental check-up for all the individuals including children and the fourth had patient counseling for tobacco cessation. 6 women and 114 men were present at the camp. The age range of the patients was between 21-57 years. The focus point for women was the breast, cervical and ovarian cancer and that for men was lung and oral cancer, prostate health and tobacco prevention, awareness and cessation. Around 12 patients had oral pre-cancerous lesions and conditions. The camp, which was held on 14th May 2016 from 10 am to 4 pm was attended by Dr. Sumedha Kushwaha and Dr. Nganba Khundrakpam.
