Hi! I am Tanuj and I am a cancer survivor. I think if you have to beat cancer you have to learn to bear the pain.

I was diagnosed 4 years ago. I used to feel very claustrophobic and had a lump in my neck. No matter the challenge I face – I tell my mother. When I did, she took me to the doctors, who confirmed in 2016 – that I was suffering from cancer.

We traveled from Hisar to AIIMS Delhi and every day was a new challenge for me. I was going through chemotherapy. It was a very difficult time for me and my family. I thought of breaking all shackles and running away. I used to feel like my body is burning.

But giving up was not an option. I chose to fight cancer and began to come out of it. I am now happy and cheerful, and can finally follow a regular routine. I want to become an artist and my parents are supporting my journey towards achieving my dreams.

My mom thanks the YouWeCan foundation and Mr. Yuvraj Singh as they have helped us a lot. YouWeCan is supporting my education till the 12th standard, in addition to their assistance through such a difficult time. When you have a strong support system, you can overcome anything!
