#ThrowbackThursday to one of YWC Foundation’s most successful Blood Donation Drive with Shoolini University

Blood donation is considered a noble and selfless act that helps save lives. At the YouWeCan Foundation, we felt a lot of pride when we offered an opportunity to Shoolini University last year with a blood donation drive. According to a report by The Lancet, India has the world’s largest shortage of blood, and this drove our volunteers to partner with a government recognized blood bank and organize this drive and do our bit.

At the YouWeCan Foundation, we believe in empowering India to fight cancer and are passionate about driving initiatives that help our society in becoming a better place. This initiative was aligned with our thoughts. The partnered government recognized blood bank brought their expert doctors and staff to conduct this clean and organized blood donation camp. The volunteers did a superb job, right from motivating people before the camp to ensuring each donor feels a sense of pride and happiness post-donation.

Remembering the blood donation campaign that was conducted last year, a representative from YouWeCan Foundation said, “One of the greatest donations that a person can make in his life with the smallest efforts is donating blood. It is an extremely satisfying experience knowing that your deed will help save someone’s life. This drive gave several people an opportunity to do their bit and we felt grateful to have had the opportunity to organize it. We thank Shoolini University for this association”.

Every blood donor is a true hero. We encourage everyone, in these unprecedented times to keep donating blood and saving lives, while maintaining all social distancing norms.
