On March 8th, International Women’s Day is celebrated honoring women’s achievements and advancements across the globe. Women play an important role in society, taking on multiple responsibilities. Encouraging women to overcome hurdles and barriers that may stand in their way is essential. This Women’s Day, the YouWeCan (YWC) Foundation shared the inspiring stories of 2 women and their fight against cancer, thus inspiring many young girls and women suffering the same to follow in their footsteps.
At YWC Foundation, we wanted to encourage our followers and supporters to spend the day considering women’s empowerment through better health, and better prevention of diseases like cancer. Today, more than ever, women are speaking up and taking ownership of their own health to ensure a brighter, healthier future for themselves and their daughters. Every day women are making smart choices and taking small steps towards healthier lives—and those are victories worth celebrating!
Shabnam Singh, Chairperson, YouWeCan Foundation said, “The news that you are going through cancer shatters you and one needs all the courage and support they can get from their loved ones. Women across the country are gradually understanding the importance of taking care of their health and this is a welcome change. At the YWC Foundation, we want to standby women and empower them with the knowledge and resources, motivate them to not feel alone in this battle and muster the courage to fight against this deadly disease.”
We present stories of two cancer survivors who battled against the odds and defeated cancer, not once but twice. Their journeys have been inspirational and both are committed to becoming individuals who actively create awareness about cancer and give hope to those who are battling this deadly disease.
