Under our #Mission1000Beds initiative, YouWeCan Foundation has set up 50 Critical Care Unit (CCU) beds at the Government Medical College & Hospital in Srinagar and 50 Critical Care Unit (CCU) beds at the Assam Medical College in Dibrugarh in collaboration with Accenture! Funds contributed by Accenture have also been used by YouWeCan Foundation to provide a range of medical equipment including ICU ventilators, BiPAP machines, patient monitors, ECG machines, defibrillators and oxygen cylinders to the hospital.
The facility at Srinagar, was inaugurated virtually by Yuvraj Singh recently in the presence of Dr Yashpal Sharma, Director (Coord.), New Govt. Medical Colleges, J&K and Managing Director, J&K Medical Supplies Corporation Ltd., and delegates from Accenture and the hospital.
On the same day, the facility at Dibrugarh was virtually inaugurated by Shri Keshab Mahanta, the Honorable Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Assam, in the presence of Yuvraj Singh, Dr. Lakshmanan S (IAS, Mission Director, National Health Mission, Assam) and delegates from Accenture and the hospital.
On this initiative, Yuvraj Singh said, “The second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic overwhelmed the healthcare infrastructure of our country. We struggled to procure ICU beds, oxygen cylinders, and other critical care facilities to help our loved ones during that period. Having witnessed not just the heart-rending suffering around us but also having experienced a personal loss, I felt an acute need to step up to support our healthcare providers and frontline workers in their fight against this deadly virus. Through our #Mission1000Beds initiative, we are setting up COVID-19 critical care facilities at hospitals across the country to increase existing capacities. We are thankful for Accenture’s support in helping us extend this initiative to the state of Jammu & Kashmir and Assam, by setting up 50 critical care beds at the Government Medical College & Hospital in Srinagar and Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh.”

In addition to Jammu & Kashmir, YouWeCan Foundation has partnered with Accenture to set up a total of 385 CCU beds at government hospitals across Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Haryana and Assam. This is a stellar milestone for the YouWeCan Foundation — in striding towards a more prepared healthcare system!
