Prashant Raj | Muzaffarpur, Bihar
Prashant shines a light on Yuvraj Singh’s influence on the masses, in a YouWeCan Times exclusive.
Introduce yourself. Where are you from & how have you become involved with the foundation?
Hey! I am Prashant – A die hard Yuvi fan from Muzaffarpur, Bihar. The name Yuvraj Singh has a big impact in my life. Be it on or off the field, Yuvi has always been an inspiration to millions. When he started “YouWeCan”, his vision of helping those who needed it, was crystal clear. As a humanitarian, survivor, cricketer — amongst the many other roles he has fulfilled, his perseverance remained consistent through them all. As a 14-year-old boy, I was completely taken by this quality of this — and so, when the time came – I chose to be a part of the movement he created.
What motivated you to become involved with YWC activities?
Being associated with YWC is a great motivation in itself. Yuvi paaji’s journey is the push we all need to stay motivated in life. YWC is a platform that allows us to take this emotion forward, by being involved in relief efforts & in helping better lives — one at a time. Being involved in such efforts, led by my idol — is highly rewarding and motivating!
What is a memorable moment that you’ve experienced in your involvement with YWC?
The memorable moment for me to date, is being connected with the YouWeCan core team and all the other die hard Yuvians. My involvement with YWC gave me the opportunity to interact with Shabnam Maa, Manik Sir, Aneesh Sir, Jitten Sir and others. Learning, interacting and being a part of core YouWeCan activities always creates wonderful memories.
What do you aspire to do?
My professional aspiration is to be a government servant. Beyond this — my aspirations involve being a part of Yuvi paa’s mission of bettering many lives across the country. I wish to meet him some day, click pictures and get an Indian jersey and cap autographed too! I aspire to being a part of YouWeCan’s stellar efforts now, and forever.
Has Yuvraj Singh inspired your life? How and why?
In my dictionary the word “inspiration” means Yuvraj Singh — and I am not the only one who feels this way. He was always my favourite cricketer, but over the years, he became an idol. From cricketing field to the battle of cancer – he became the “Never Give Up” man for me and the whole nation. He has big impact on me and many others. Always love and respect, Yuvi paa!
