In conversation with Sekar – the man behind creative and mindblowing artwork dedicated to Yuvraj Singh’s vision, on what makes him amplify YWC’s message!

Ques.  Introduce yourself.  Where are you from and how have you become involved with the foundation?

Answer. I am SEKAR KANNA. I come from Cumbum valley, a place in the Theni district of Tamil Nadu. Since my childhood, I am a die-hard fan of Yuvraj Singh. Like all the Yuvi fans, I too got inclined towards YWC and joined it to spread my share of love and care to the society.

Ques. What is a memorable moment that you’ve experienced in your involvement with  YWC?

Answer. I am a graphic designer. I started making edits for my clients for INR 12. On the last day of the month, I calculate the money I accumulated by making these designs and donate the same to YWC. Till date, I earned INR 6,556 and donated the same to YWC. My contribution might be a drop in the ocean but contributing to YWC’s pious mission makes me feel proud.

Also after joining YWC, I can make sure that my designs are noticed by Yuvi himself. Hazel ma’am too shared a couple of my designs on her Instagram account, which was so encouraging!

Ques. What motivated you to become involved with YWC activities?

Answer. I feel YWC’s mission is a very pious one. The work culture at YWC, the team work involving us Yuvi-fans in all the possible activities motivated me to get involved with YWC.

Ques. Has Yuvraj Singh inspired your life? How and why?

Answer. Until 2011, I only admired Yuvraj Singh, the cricketer. Post 2011, after witnessing his heroic battle against Cancer, I became a die-hard fan of his fighting spirit too. His never give up attitude impacted my life positively. It keeps me motivated to create thought provoking designs in my professional life. My biggest dream is to get an opportunity to meet Yuvi in person and touch his hand. Hope it is fulfilled soon.

Ques. What do you aspire to do?

Answer. I am a graphic designer. I want to excel in the field of designing. Everyone has a distinct way of expressing their love towards their hero – my way of expression is making Yuvi edits. Apart from this, I am an active member of our charity organisation – “Tamil Nadu Yuvraj Singh Army” We want to work towards bringing a change in the society in coordination with YWC.
